Chris has a leadership background with a focus in the fields of finance, taxation, and corporate governance. He has a history of involvement in start-ups and brings, in-the-trenches, business experience. While he has a penchant for compliance, reporting, and complex corporate arrangements, he also recognizes that each business environment is unique and tailors his approach to meet the needs of the business and balance the interests of its stakeholders.
Chris was awarded as top Business Leader in Calgary by Business in Calgary Magazine for his work as Managing Partner of Pinnacle Accounting & Finance, a mid-sized professional firm, and for his involvement in the business community. Chris serves as a Director of the Public Business Accountants’ Society of Alberta, is President and Director of the Foundation for the Advancement of Entrepreneurship, and a Trustee in the Medallion Health Trust.
Chris’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary. He completed the Certified Management Accountant program in 2013. During Covid, he finished a Masters of Laws (Business) from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University and is in the process of publishing his first paper on the law of corporate governance and business ethics.
Chris has made some aggressive plans to retire before the age of 40 so that he and his wife can sail the world.
